Our Area of Crete
Where you’ll find, and enjoy, Cretan Life

The land we own and offer for sale is all located in the west of Crete, near to the city of Chania. Most of our plots are located in the Apokoronas region, however we have bought land in other areas around Chania. This is an area steeped in history and tradition with some of the most breathtaking scenery on the whole island. Yet along with sight-seeing, it meets every requirement for modern life, with a rich variety of options in shopping, dining and leisure experiences.

Chania and the Apokoronas Region
Chania was the capital of Crete until 1972, and many still believe it to be one of the prettiest towns in Greece. Reminders of its Byzantine past abound, and the town successfully combines its ancient history with vibrant modern life, including a wealth of fascinating shops of every description.

From traditional knife makers to Leather Lane, from designer furniture to the fresh fish market - Chania has it all! In addition to the best shopping in Crete, Chania also offers a first class choice of restaurants to suit every taste, plus a buzzing nightlife.

No visit to Chania would be complete without exploring the picturesque harbour area and admiring the many hauntingly beautiful old buildings of Venetian and Turkish design, all blending together in perfect harmony to create an unforgettable picture. Return in the evening, and there is change of pace and atmosphere. Live music bars, sophisticated clubs, laid-back tavernas - think Havana with a Mediterranean twist.

Chania celebrates a full programme of special occasions throughout the year, starting with the annual New Year fireworks. And in addition to a whole calendar of feast days, there are weekly summer festivals . Whether these are promoting local food and wine or celebrating the local arts and culture, they are enjoyed by visitors and townsfolk alike. Day or night, summer or winter, Chania is always alive!

  • Chania is by far the most beautiful city in Crete and that is the general opinion from all the Greeks
  • The voted most beautiful beach in Greece for the last three years in a row is the beach of Falassarna, which is in the southwest part of Chania County.
  • The Apokoronas district is situated in between the cities of Chania and Rethymnon. It is about half an hour drive from each as well as the Chania Airport. The district can be considered as independent as one can find all amenities and facilities here such as a 24h health centre, tavernas, bars, cafes, hotels, supermarkets, nice and clean beaches (all blue-flagged including Georgioupolis-the longest beach in Europe)
  • Apokoronas is the only district of Crete that from its beginning to its end combines the Cretan Sea on the one side and the White Mountains on the other. Also, the bigger fresh water lake in Crete (Kournas Lake) is situated in Apokoronas.
  • Apokoronas district considers to be the one with the easiest access to the motorway (“Chania-Lasithi National Road”) that crosses the island because of the great number of exits/junctions. Specifically there are 9 motorway junctions to Apokoronas District (Megala Horafia, Kalami, Kalives, Agii Pantes, Vrysses, Georgioupolis, Kournas, Kavros and Argyroupolis/Episkopi).
  • Due to the above reasons Apokoronas is the region of Greece with the most building permits issued for the last three years.
  • Major lack of good quality villas for rent. Great opportunity for buy-to-let and/or buy to build to let property investors and raise up the area standards. One can gain approximately 25,000 euros per annum from rentals for a good quality 100 sqm villa (3 bedrooms-2 bathrooms villa) with 70% occupancy.
